DISS takes place at Tapijnkazerne, a revitalised military site turned faculty building nestled right in Maastricht City Park. Please note that this is not the regular School of Business and Economics building at Tongersestraat. The venue is a short walk from the historic centre and the Meuse river.

Dinner takes place at Basilica, Vrijthof 15a, 6211 LD Maastricht — located on the Vrijthof square, approximately a 15-minute walk from Tapijnkazerne.

Travel tips

By train

Intercity services connect Maastricht with Amsterdam, Utrecht, Eindhoven, and other Dutch hubs. From Maastricht station, Tapijnkazerne is a 20-minute walk or a short bus ride (lines 3 or 4).

Regional transport

Arriva buses and local trains link surrounding towns in Limburg directly to Maastricht. Use lines that stop at Tongersestraat or St. Pieterskade for the quickest walk to Tapijnkazerne.

By bike or on foot

The city centre is compact and well-signed for cyclists and pedestrians. Tapijnkazerne sits inside the city park, minutes away from Jekerkwartier and the river.

Parking

There is no on-campus parking at Tapijnkazerne. Public transport or cycling is recommended. If you do come by car, the following options are nearby:

Prins Bisschopsingel (street parking)

Cross the Kennedy bridge, pass the first traffic-light intersection, then take the service road running parallel to Prins Bisschopsingel. Paid parking spaces are available for unlimited time.

Stadspark 1 (parking garage)

Take the right-hand exit on the Kennedy bridge after crossing the Meuse. The car park is on your left. Approximately €13 per day, with a 7–8 minute walk to the Tapijnkazerne entrance.

If you want to stay overnight

  • Look for accommodation in the city centre or Wyck to stay within a 10–15 minute walk of Tapijnkazerne.
  • Hotels such as The Social Hub Maastricht, Crowne Plaza, and Kaboom offer business-friendly rooms.
  • Boutique guesthouses in Jekerkwartier provide quieter options close to the venue.
